PAUL WOLINSKI LIVE at GMCC [674fm, Cologne] - DJ-Support Bob Humid

DJ-Support: BOB HUMID Game Music Composer Concerts is a relatively new concert series in Cologne, Germany, hosted by Uli Sigg and Bob Humid, which presents composers and producers of game music as immersive live performances. One artist, one evening. The subsequent artist talk and meet & greet will provide insights into the technical and creative process. The concert on the 9th of July 2025 is a co-operation between GMCC, Soundtrack_Cologne and 674fm. Paul Wolinski, known to most connaisseurs as the code-savvy and central member of the experimental/electronically modulated math-rock band 65daysofstatic, has released numerous studio albums and toured the world with them over the past two decades. Always keen to explore less conventional ways of making and presenting music, this exceptional band created the 'infinite‘-soundtrack for the hugely (and still) successful and acclaimed cult video game No Man's Sky. They then toured Europe with their algorithmically controlled live A/V performance Decomposition Theory. The current work in progress is called Wreckage Systems - an endless "24-7" stream of procedurally generated (but NOT AI-generated!) music. Under the pseudonym Polinski, Paul has released several solo albums, most recently Telex From MIDI City (Data Airlines, 2023) and the accompanying E.P. Meet Me By The Panamax Barricades (Data Airlines, 2024). Paul Wolinski effortlessly fills various roles as an audio, sound design and programming specialist. He has worked on a number of indie games in the past. Currently he is working as a composer on a new, large, yet to be announced video game which is already raising expectations in the gamer-scene. As a panelist at this year's SoundTrack_Cologne 22 · 2025, he will give insights into his very special technical and artistic approach during the day. Later, in the evening of the same day, Paul will not only draw from his sonic origins, inspirations, compositional vectors and electronic passions that make up his work to the fullest at 674fm, but will also perform live and audiovisually with and against his machines and code, literally with and against his own digital creature Wreckage Systems.
