Week-End Club: Carl Craig w/ Visky

You can tell that the Week-End Fest has a lot to offer from the program selection on both festival days. If you still haven't had enough, you can slip away to the Late Night. As in the past two years, we offer an exciting and sweat-inducing night with legendary international DJs and local crews on both evenings of the festival. No matter which way you look at it: Carl Craig is the most important and best-known representative of the second wave of Detroit techno. The list of his highlights is long - from his sampling and reinterpretation of Manuel Göttsching's E2-E4 on "Remake", to a whole series of great and groundbreaking remixes (e.g. of Maurizio's "Domina"), to his work with the Planet E label and projects under various pseudonyms (such as Paperclip People). But one thing is certain: no one has perfected the fusion of synthwave, funk, jazz and techno like Carl Craig. His DJ skills are undisputed, and it is a special honor to be able to present him at Week-End Fest 2025. Visky (aka Vicky Hytrek) is a DJ and music journalist from Cologne. Known through the Kompakt Recordstore, she stands for versatile, cross-genre sets between deep house, leftfield grooves and cosmic disco. In clubs such as Fi, Jaki and Open Ground, she creates atmospheric, warm dancefloor journeys. She also hosts the radio show "Pool Time" on Callshop Radio and writes for Kaput Mag.
